Christmas Living Room 2017

Happy Holidays everyone! I’m so excited to share with you all our Christmas living room. This year I wanted our home to feel like a winter wonderland…calm and peaceful. With that in mind I wanted to use a little bit of blue through out the house. As soon as I started opening the Christmas plastic bins I was overjoyed with excitement! I literally started pulling everything out, the candy cane glass ornaments, snowman, silver reindeer, garland…. then I became overwhelmed with all the red and white. I love traditional Christmas colors and I have always used red and white during this time of year but as much as I wanted to use those colors they were over powering the look and feel I was going for. After a few days of staring at my red and white Christmas decor, my husband finally convinced me that I needed to stick to my vision and not use red. So I took everything down… with the help of my husband of course heheh and I felt relieved.

This is my first year decorating with a blue color scheme and to be honest I’m loving it! With that said welcome to my Christmas living room tour! I kept everything extra simple this year. Our tree doesn’t have much ornaments just a few snowflakes from the dollar store, white and turquoise ornaments and the sweet little bird houses I made a few years back (you can get the tutorial HERE).

I kept the coastal vibe very subtle by leaving the glass jars and a few sea stars.

I hope you enjoyed my simple take on a blue Christmas and who knew I would love it as much as I do.
