Seasonal Simplicity Spring Home Tour

I’m so thrilled to finally be decorating and getting our little home set up. I do have to admit, I’ve been slacking! All I’ve been wanting to do since we moved to Japan is explore and learn more about their beautiful culture. It’s been such a wonderful experience and the best part is that I’m surrounded by wonderful people. I couldn’t be more lucky to have such wonderful neighbors.

Today I’m teaming up with a lovely group of 25 amazing bloggers who are also sharing their spring inspired homes as part of the Seasonal Simplicity Home Tour Series. Thank you Krista from The Happy Housie and April from House By Hoff for hosting these home tours. You will find all the spring inspired home tours at the end of this blog post along with their links so you can enjoy more spring inspirations. If you are stopping by from at Home with the barkers, welcome!

Since this is our first spring here I wanted to go simple… I mean real simple! I went down to our local hardware store and bought some terra cotta pots and some seasonal flowers that they had. Fresh flowers are such an inexpensive way to add some spring decor to your home, plus you can never go wrong with fresh flowers!

I keep going back and forth on doing a whitewash on the terra cotta pots so I just left them as they are for now. I am hoping to re-use these terra cotta pots again and transition them outside for the summer. For now, I truly love how they look against the wall and how they bring a pop of color to the space.

Spring-Home-Tour-2017

A few years back I painted some foam plastic eggs and I couldn’t throw them away when we moved, so they made it all the way to Japan -lol- It was only proper to unpack them and bring them out of hiding.

I had some large seashells and decided to use them as bowls and placed the stowaway blue painted eggs inside them. I also used them on our table setting.

Yesterday, I shared our Easter table setting and you can find these sweet little vintage bunny printables here.

Remember that you don’t always have to buy expensive things to decorate your home, sometimes all you need are some fresh flowers and terra cotta pots.

Next stop is the lovely Nina from Nina Hendrick Design Co. Don’t forget to check out all the home tours through out the week!

Such beautiful spring touches, Norma! I love those speckled eggs – I can see why you packed them all the way across the ocean. And you are right – adding some fresh flowers and greenery is the perfect way to welcome in spring!
