Corn Husk Pumpkins DIY

My Summer days are officially over and my Fall decorating has begun. This Fall I’ve decided to stay with a blue/brown color scheme. Partly because I truly loved it last year and I wanted our home to feel just as cozy and rustic without using the traditional orange tone Fall colors.

Since Fall is my favorite season I wanted to share a very simple DIY craft that will look beautiful in any autumn vignette. So, let’s kick off the season with a fun DIY project!

Let’s get started!

When I think of Fall, I immediately think pinecones. Growing up in a place where tall pine trees filled the landscape you were bound to stumble upon pinecones. But, this post isn’t about pinecones it’s about these darling corn husk pumpkins I made. They are the perfect neutral to balance the bold look of the pinecones. I couldn’t be more happy with the way they turned out. They are easy to make too!

Corn Husk Pumpkins DIY

Supplies Needed:
Corn Husks
Floral Foam
Hot Glue Gun and Hot Glue Stick
Scissors
Driftwood or Wood Sticks

 

Steps:
1. Cut the floral foam to the desired length you want your pumpkin to be.
2. Hot glue the piece of driftwood to the middle top of the floral foam.
3. Cut the corn husks into different size strips, you will need some wide and thin pieces.
4. Start shaping your corn husk strips and hot glue one end to the top (close enough to the driftwood) and hot glue the other end to the bottom of the floral foam.
5. Repeat step four until you cover the whole floral foam.
