Daiso Hot Chocolate Gift Box
Happy Holidays! It’s been an overwhelming month for me, I’ve gone through a lot of changes and I’m slowly trying to cope with them all. I will share my story in another post, but for now, I want to share a simple and inexpensive gift idea! You can also check out more holiday gift ideas at the end of this post.
Ever since the first time I was introduced to Daiso here in Okinawa, Japan I haven’t been able to stay away. If you have not been to a Japanese Daiso, let me tell you… you are missing out! Daiso is one of the most popular stores in Japan, everything is 100 yen ($1.00) yes, I know what you are thinking, that it’s like a dollar store, but I hate to break your bubble because the items they carry (here in Japan) are unique good quality that simply cannot be compared to other dollar stores.
Now that you know a bit more about a Japanese Daiso, I wanted to share this hot chocolate gift idea with you and everything you see in this picture in all from Daiso!
Let’s break it down! I bought: Ribbon, gift box, pinecones, ornaments, jars with gold lids, silver scoop, mug, ceramic polar bear utensil holder, mittens, wood spoon, Christmas tree candle, jute twine, basket paper filler, marshmallows, and chocolate cubes all at Daiso! The only thing I didn’t buy was the hot cocoa mix.
I wanted to fill the gift box with the essentials you need to make a delicious cup of hot chocolate. I filled one of the hot chocolate jars with marshmallows and chocolate candy cubes and the other with hot chocolate mix. I figured you will need a mug, stirring spoon, and hot cocoa scoop. The candle and mittens were a cozy element that I had to add.
The total cost is $15 and this little gift box couldn’t be any cuter!
I wanted to thank my sweet friend Krista The Happy Housie for hosting this holiday blog hop! Remember you don’t have to spend a lot of money on gifts, sometimes the only thing you need is chocolate 🙂
Today I’m thrilled to be part of a fantastic group of bloggers who are also sharing their DIY Gift Ideas for the holidays with you (many with free printable tags)!

Very cool. I lived in Okinawa when I was a small child and later as a teenage, 52 years later…I’m sure it has changed a lot!
